Shendetli - > This is an albanian traditional dessert prepared from my friend Brunhilda Cela.
The ingredients - >
500 gr. flour
500-600 gr. nuts
60 gr. sugar
100 gr. honey
2 little spoon with bicarbonate
250-300 gr. dissolved butter
60 gr. oil
6 eggs
60 gr. milk
1 lemons
For sugared water - >
3 water glasses with sugar
2 water glasses with water
1 lemon skin
Preparation - > Inside a container put altogether eggs, sugar, honey, oil, (look at the photo) and mix them for 10 minutes. Then add the dissolved butter and continue to mix for other 5 minutes.
Mix the flour with bicarbonate, then take spoon by spoon droop it inside the container, continue to mix them with a woden spoon and afer 3 minutes droop inside the nuts (look the photo) and the minced skin of a lemon.
Drop it in the pan and then put it inside your oven. It has to be baked for 45 minutes in 185°.
When is finished coloured it with milk.
Now we can prepare sugared water. Put together 3 water glasses with sugar, 2 water glasses with and one lemon skin, then let them boiled in fire, for 45 minutes.
* Do not put the sugared water inside the pan, when dhe cake (Sherbetli) is hot. It must be cold. Then let them for 1 hour before you eat it.
